Editorial Process

The Drake Undergraduate Social Science Journal (DUSSJ) is published once annually, in late spring.

The process begins in December, when members of the student editorial board issue a call for papers. Papers must be submitted by February 13, in Word format, via email to the faculty advisor of the DUSSJ.

Submissions are reviewed in a double-blind peer review process. Papers granted a conditional acceptance by the student editorial board are returned to the authors with editorial requests for revision and must be re-submitted to the board, typically within 10-14 days. The student editorial board then reaches final determinations about acceptance/rejection and prepares all accepted submissions for publication in early April.
