The Economics Tutoring Lab

The Economics Tutoring Lab provides free tutoring for students, by students in Room 1, Aliber Hall. This service is intended primarily for students in ECON 2 and 10. The schedule for Spring semester 2017 is as follows:

  • Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. (Tutor: M. Biggs)

The Lab will open February 7 and run through May 2. The lab will be closed during Spring Break (March 13-17) and Finals Week.

Making best use of the lab

  • To make an appointment, go to https://library.drake.edu/econ-tutoring/ .  Walk-ins are OK, too.
  • Always read the textbook before coming, and bring the textbook with you.
  • Note that tutors are economics majors, not professors. Tutors do not have answer keys to assignments, and they may not be familiar with all topics covered by your professor.
  • To succeed in any course, (1) go to every class, (2) go to every class prepared, and (3) always see your professor first when experiencing difficulty.

Drake Undergraduate Social Science Journal

Economics majors have written articles or had research published in this student-edited, biannual, online publication. You can find current and past editions and additional information on the Drake Undergraduate Social Science Journal website.

Writing Workshop

The Writing Workshop's trained student assistants help undergraduates who are writing papers or need assistance with individual assignments. It is a free service for all Drake University students.
