PD 360
PD 360 and Drake
Drake University has partnered with the School Improvement Network to offer three semester hours of graduate credit to study teams and individuals that wish to implement PD 360 content into a graduate credit bearing professional development experience.
To help identify assignments and activities, Drake University developed outlines in five content areas. These outlines can be used as a guide when writing and implementing team plans.
Content outlines are available in the areas of:
- Assessment
- Differentiation
- Diverse Learners
- English Language Learners
- Quality of Classroom Instruction
Some content areas offer the option to choose an elementary or secondary edition. This allows a team to study the same content area and have members from multiple levels. The outlines are based on three semester hours of graduate credit. Three hours of graduate credit is equivalent to 80 - 90 hours of work by each participant. This can be achieved by a combination of any of the following:
- Team meetings
- Implementing suggested activities found in the facilitator manual(s).
- Viewing and reviewing of PD 360 segments.
- Readings in one or more of the suggested texts, articles or documents.
- Writing of practical application assignments.
- Researching one or more dimensions of the course/ professional paper.
- Lesson plans
- Presenting information to fellow teachers, parents or other professional groups.
Each team should feel free to customize a plan that addresses their specific goals and objectives. Assignments/activities would then be customized based on the suggestions found above. Once a team has developed a plan, it is to be sent to Drake University for final approval.
Outlines have been developed for the individual credit option and will be posted soon.
