Course Overview

3 Semester Hours of Graduate Credit

Enroll in one of the nation's first distance learning courses in Adapted Physical Education. A team of educational field consultants have given their writings and designs to engineers who created simple, affordable blueprints for adaptive devices. The course includes:

Video presentations and demonstrations of teachers using adaptive devices with special needs students.
A CD-ROM with useable blueprints developed by volunteer engineers at Rockwell International.
Special modules called Toys from Trash and High Tech Toys developed by the Iowa instructors.
A special segment on strategies to use with autistic students.
A study guide with practical application assignments.
A current textbook with related readings.
