Course Overview
Reading is a complex system of deriving meaning from print that requires motivation, constructing meaning sufficient background information and vocabulary to comprehend text. Reading also requires the ability to decode unfamiliar words., the ability to read fluently, and the skills and knowledge to understand how phonemes are connected to print (Snow, Burns, & Griffin, 1998). This course help you decode and further comprehend the components of reading, current research in literacy, and effective strategies for instruction, assessment, and technology integration to help yo motivate your students and increase their reading achievement. This course incorporates the Drake Inquiry Project.
