Course Overview
This course emphasizes the fundamentals and foundations of reading as the young reader moves from early literacy to emergent literacy. You will study those reading fundamentals of phonics, phonemic awareness, and print and alphabetic awareness as well as vocabulary development and comprehension. More importantly, you will develop increasing awareness and skill in how to use your knowledge to help that young reader become a lifelong reader. This course incorporates the new Drake Inquiry Project.
