Shop Safety

Shops are vital to completing various functions on campus, including serving as teaching tools and being a place for students to complete projects. Work associated with shops includes model-building, carpentry, electric/electronics work, metal working, and more. Each of these activities present its own set of risks and hazards that users need to be aware of.

As such, EHS has developed a comprehensive training program to manage the hazards associated with working in various shops. This training will guide compliance to OSHA and other guiding regulations concerning shops. EHS urges all personnel working in shops to be aware of shop safety measures to ensure continued safety and compliance to guidelines.
