Fork Trucks
Fork trucks are very useful vehicles, but they can be dangerous when operated improperly. Injuries and fatalities occur when forklifts are driven off ledges, fall off ramps and roll over.
OSHA issued the Powered Industrial Truck Standard to address these hazards. The Powered Industrial Truck standard requires that all operators of forklifts be trained and certified prior to the operation of a forklift. Training must be performed by a certified trainer.
Federal law prohibits those not properly trained and all minors (under 18 years of age) from operating a fork.
