Waste Disposal
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has a webpage with a plethora of useful information regarding recycling, composting, etc and proper disposal of hazardous waste generated at home. Household wastes such as batteries and florescent lamps should not be trashed, but properly recycled. Contact the Metro Waste Authority at 244-0021 for more information.
