Study Abroad

Imagine building a health clinic in Uganda, studying in London, or interning with a multinational company in China. You can make these experiences and more a reality when you study abroad. In an increasingly global marketplace, having experience in or knowledge of another culture is a valuable asset. At Drake, you can study abroad for a semester, academic year, summer, or January Term in more than 70 countries.

In addition to other study abroad opportunities, Enterpreneurial Management students have been part of the Uganda study abroad program since its inception nearly ten years ago. Drake students have an incredible opportunity to experience sub-Saharan Africa, interacting with students at Makarere University Business School (MUBS), working on the development of a medical clinic in Kikandwa, and more. Drake students (now alumnae) Emily Raecker and Carly Reimensnider have both spent significant time developing relationships in country, Emily working with artist Godfrey Kalungi, and Carly returning to work for well-known Ugandan entrepreneur, Patrick Bitature.

We highly recommend working with Drake International to find an approved program that best suits your needs personally, professionally, and academically. Drake International also maintains a list of approved programs. Visit "Where Can I Go?" to research approved education abroad programs.
