| The American-Scandinavian Foundation Eligibility: The student must have a well-defined research or study project that makes a stay in Scandinavia essential. The student must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. The student must have completed their undergraduate education by the start of their project in Scandinavia. First priority will be given to students who have not previously received an ASF award. | Phi Beta Kappa Mary Isabel Sibley Fellowship for French Studies Eligibility: Must be unmarried women between the ages of 25 and 35 who have demonstrated their ability to carry on original research. Must hold a doctorate or have fulfilled all the requirements for a doctorate except the dissertation, and they must be planning to devote full-time work to research during the fellowship year that begins September 1, 2008. Eligibility is not restricted to members of Phi Beta Kappa or to U.S. citizens. | Smithsonian Fellowships Eligibility: Applicants must propose to conduct research at the Smithsonian in one of its areas of research for a period of three to twelve months, or ten weeks for the Graduate Student Fellowship. | Soroptimist International of the Americas Eligibility: Applicant must be a Female Student. Student must be entering or obtaining a Post Graduate degree. Student must be outstanding academically with preference given to students working toward a career in public service, international studies or a non-traditional field for women. Undergraduate degree must have been completed by August of 2007. Student must live in or attend school in the North Central Region; this includes Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North and South Dakota and is a citizen of the United States.
