Applicants must be Iowa residents and who will be or are presently attending an accredited Iowa college, technical or vocational school full-time as a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior. Army Emergency Relief
Stateside Spouse Education Assistance Program

Eligibility: 
Applicant must be a spouse of an active, retired or deceased Army Soldier and must reside in the U.S. Applicant and spouse must be registered in the Defense Eligibility Enrollment System (DEERS). Applicant must attend undergraduate level studies at a college, community college or vocational school on a full-time basis as established by the school accepting the scholarship funds.  Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of not less than 2.0 on a 4.0 grading scale for disbursement of funds.

Major General James Ursano Scholarship Fund for Dependent Children

Eligibility: 
Applicant must be a dependent of a soldier on federal active duty, a retiree or a deceased active or retired soldier.  To be a dependent, the applicant must be under the age of 23 for the entire academic year, registered in DEERS and unmarried for the entire academic year. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student for the entire academic year. Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of not less than 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship & Excellence in Education Program
Deadline: October (Annually)
Award: $7,500

Eligibility: Applicants must be a United States citizen, resident alien or U.S. national. Any Drake University student pursuing a career in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering is eligible if he or she majors in mathematics, physical sciences or natural sciences. The student must currently be full-time sophomores or juniors pursuing a baccalaureate degree. The student must have a cumulative Drake G.P.A. of 3.75 or better. Students who plan to study medicine are eligible only if they plan a research career rather than a career as a medical doctor in a private practice. Strong candidates may have had the opportunity to participate in research or held internships in research facilities, either industrial or academic.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship

Award: up to $5,000

Eligibility: Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, permanent residents are not eligible. Applicants must be an undergraduate student in good standing at an institution of higher education located in the United States. Students may be attending a two- or four-year institution. Applicants must be receiving federal Pell Grant funding during the academic term of his/her application, the applicant is applying to or been accepted for a program of study abroad eligible for undergraduate credit by the student's home institution. National Institutes of Health Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Deadline:  February (Annually)
Award:  Up to $20,000, scholarships are awarded for 1 year and can be renewed up to 4 years.

Eligibility:  Have GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or be within the top 5% of your class. Be U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or qualified non-citizen (eligible to work in U.S.). Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time student for the 2007-2008 academic year at an accredited, 4-year undergraduate institution. Be from a disadvantaged background. Disadvantaged background means that you come from a low-income family (See website for more information). Priority is given to students who have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate course work including biology, chemistry, physics, and calculus (or are currently sophomores and/or juniors).

Northern Association of Boating Administrators

Eligibility:

The Rotary Club of Des Moines
2008-09 Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship

Award:  Up to $26,000-Qualified individuals are provided the opportunity to study abroad for up to a one-year, and sometimes two-year period for college or vocational studies.

Eligibility: Must have fluency in the language of the country in which study is planned. Children of present members of Rotary International are not eligible. There must be a Rotary Club in the city in which the foreign study is anticipated. Applicant must have completed at least two (2) years of college or university work.
