Harlequin Floors Scholarship Program
Deadline: November (Annually)
Award:Range between $500 and $5,000
Eligibility: Applicants must be enrolled in a public or private dance school program at the time of the application. The applicant must be nominated, and enrollment must be certified in writing by the dance instructor. Applicants under the age of eighteen (18) years must have the signature of a parent or legal guardian to be eligible. U.S. and Canadian citizens between the ages of 15 and 21 years are eligible to apply for these scholarships. Applicant must be at least 15 years of age by November 1, 2009, or not older than 21 years of age by November 1, 2009. Dance instructors must nominate the applicant and submit all required information on an official Harlequin Dance Scholarship program application. Employees and family members of employees of American Harlequin Corporation, British Harlequin plc, and Harlequin International Sarl are ineligible to apply and/or receive scholarship monies.

National Institutes of Health Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Deadline: February (Annually)
Award:Up to $20,000, scholarships are awarded for 1 year and can be renewed up to 4 years
Eligibility: Have GPA o 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or be within the top 5% of your class. Be U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or qualified non-citizen (eligible to work in U.S.). Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time student for the 2010-2011 academic year at an accredited, 4-year undergraduate institution. Be from a disadvantaged background. Disadvantaged background means that you come from a low-income family (see website for more information). Priority is given to students who have completed at least two years of undergraduate course work including biology, chemistry, physics, and calculus (or are currently sophomores and/or juniors).

Pittsburgh Jazz Society/Mellon Jazz Scholarship

Award:$5,000
Eligibility: Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student at a four-year university. Scholarship awarded based on musical ability, therefore applicant must provide audition tape/CD, two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a professional musician or music teacher, and submit a short essay describing background and goals as a musician.
