Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship

Deadline: February 24, 2012
Award:  $10,000

Eligibility: Currently a full-time student in a graduate program that prepares students for careers in state and local government finance and expecting to be enrolled in the spring semester (including spring graduates). Must hold a Baccalaureate degree or its equivalent. Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada. Students who have been a past winner of a scholarship administered by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada are not eligible to apply.

Government Finance Officers Association of the US and Canada
Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship
Deadline: February 24, 2012
Award:  $5,000

Eligibility: Must be a full-time student in an undergraduate OR graduate accounting program who is preparing for a career in state and local government finance. Undergraduate students must be in the process of completing at least their junior year by the time the scholarship is awarded. Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada. Student must not have been a past winner of a scholarship administered by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada is not eligible to apply.

Insurance Scholarship Foundation of America
Deadline: March 15 Annually for spring, October 1 Annually for fall
Award:  $500-$5,000

Eligibility:

  • Must be a candidate for a bachelor's or higher degree with a major or minor in insurance, risk management, or actuarial science
  • Be currently attending a college or university an be completing or have completed the second year of college
  • Have successfully completed two insurance, risk management, or actuarial science courses having a minimum of three credit hours each
  • Have achieved at least a 3.0 grade average on a 4.0 scale
  • Not be receiving full reimbursement for the expense of tuition, books etc. from an employer or from any outside sources

Iowa School of Banking-John Hughes Scholarship
Deadline: April 13, 2012
Award:
All room, board, and tuition expenses to attend first year curriculum of the Iowa School of Banking

Eligibility:

  • Must be attending any Iowa four-year college or university and have completed his/her junior year and be interested in a career in banking upon graduation
  • Be majoring in business or a related field
  • Fill out the application, outlining qualifications, background, and reasons for wanting to attend the school
  • Attach a letter of recommendation from an advisor or instructor
  • Attach a transcript

National Society of Accountants Scholarship
Deadline: March 10 annually
Award:
Ranging from $500-$2,000 depending on availability of funds at the time of award

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must be an undergraduate student majoring in accounting
  • May apply for second, third, or fourth year of studies, provided they are committed to a major of accounting throughout the remainder of their college career
  • Applicant must be a strong academic performer and have at least a 3.0 grade oint average on a 4.0 scale
  • Applicant must be a citizen of the United States or Canada

Streamline Refinance Scholarship for Finance and Economics
Deadline: December 15, 2012
Award:
$1,000

Eligibility: Any student enrolled in finance, economics, or investment related fields, and who are pursuing advanced education in these particular areas.

  • Applicant shall be 17 years of age or older and be accepted to or attending a full-time finance, economics, or investment program at an accredited institution of learning
  • Applicant must be attending the program within an accredited institution in the United States
  • Applicant bust be either a citizen of the United States or a foreign student with a valid United States Student Visa
  • Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, based on the previous year's academic performance.
