5.03 FACULTY
SENATE COMMITTEE ON ASSESSMENT
The Faculty Senate Committee on Assessment is a standing committee charged with
monitoring and overseeing assessment at Drake University. One representative from
each of the four divisions of Arts & Sciences as well as one representative from
each of the remaining colleges and schools shall be appointed. Members are appointed
by the Executive Committee upon recommendations by the deans of the colleges/schools.
The Committee's specific responsibilities are as follows: review and revise the annual
Drake Student survey instrument, make sure all units execute their assignment plans,
and collect reports on from each College and School on assessment activities. (The
specific data do not have to be reported to this committee. The report should note
what assessment activities were conducted and the consequent actions taken as a result
of the data collected.) The Committee should collect reports on the Drake Student
Survey and the Student Development Task and Lifestyle Inventory, provide advice on
assessment activities and plans, make recommendations to the Provost, and provide
advice to the Associate Provost on assessment issues.
