5.05 COMMITTEE
ON EDUCATIONAL POLICIES AND ISSUES
The Committee is responsible for recommending educational policy for the University.
The Committee is concerned with, but not necessarily confined to, the following areas
and responsibilities: library services, international education, computer services,
research, all-university appeals, curricular duplication, and academic calendar.
The Committee is responsible for securing and screening recommendations for recipients
of honorary degrees. The Committee reports its annual recommendations for honorary
degrees to the Senate in the Spring semester.

HONORARY DEGREE/DRAKE MEDAL SUB-COMMITTEE
This shall be a standing sub-committee of the Educational Policies and Issues Committee
of the Faculty Senate. The members of this sub-committee shall be appointed by the
Executive Committee for staggered two-year terms. Membership on the sub-committee
should represent a broad spectrum of academic discipline and also should include
emeritus representation. One person shall be designated chair and another chair-elect.
One member shall also be a member of the Educational Policies Committee.
