Our Future with Britain: How the U.K.'s leave from the EU affects us all
In June 2016, a small majority of referendum voters tippd the scale toward "leave," inciting the U.K. to begin steps to remove itself from the European Union. Prime Minister Theresa May triggered Article 50 -- the official two-year process required by the Treaty of Lisbon for any country wishing to leave the EU -- on March 30, making people all over the world wonder what's to come.
When exactly will the U.K. leave the EU, and under what terms? How will Brexit affect trade between the U.K. and remaining EU countries, and how will it affect Britain's relationship with America?
Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 7 p.m., The Harkin Institute welcomed Stephen Bridges, British Consul General, to answer these questions, discussing how the U.K.'s relations with both the EU and the U.S. will change post-Brexit.
