Learning and Development

Drake University's commitment to lifelong learning occurs in many formats.

Excellence in Learning and Development: Attend sessions on campus, generally 2-3 hours in length, where information is presented on a variety of beneficial topics. Archived programs and program participants are available.

Learning and Development Leave*: Continue your professional development by taking a leave, where you have the opportunity to participate in comprehensive in-depth learning activities that will further Drake's strategic initiatives.

Staff Development Grant: Opportunity to pursue professional development opportunities that will enhance the staff member's performance consistent with the needs of the department and/or the university.

Tuition Exchange Program: Dependents of Drake University employees have the opportunity to receive assistance for education in both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Tuition Rebate Program*: Enroll for classes for yourself, spouse/partner, and eligible dependents, that can be applied towards a degree from Drake.

Tuition Reimbursement for PhD Program*: Pursue a post-graduate degree, that is otherwise not offered at Drake, and receive reimbursement.

Charles (Charlie) Edwards, dean of Drake University’s College of Business and Public Administration (CBPA) and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication (SJMC), announced today that he will retire effective May 31, 2014.
