Health Sciences Tracks and Value-Adding Opportunities

The Health Sciences curriculum is flexible in order to serve the needs of a variety of health care career interests.  Students choose to focus their education according to one of two available tracks, depending on their areas of interest: Clinical and Applied Sciences or Health Services Management.

Students in both tracks have the opportunity to complete additional academic opportunities that will add value to their Drake education.  A variety of double majors, minors and concentrations can be added to any Health Sciences major.  Students in the Clincal and Applied Sciences track also have the opportunity to study in our 3+3 B.S./Law option through the Drake Law School.  They can also choose to complete our 3+1 partnership program with Mercy College of Health Sciences, in which they can earn a Certificate in Clinical Laboratory Sciences along with their Bachelor's degree. In addition, they have the opportunity to complete a 3+1 BSN with Allen College.

Health Services Management students also have a 3+3 B.S./Law option available to them.  We also have two new partnership programs with Des Moines University.  Students can choose to pair their Health Sciences degree with either a Master of Health Care Administration or a Master of Public Health

Students who are interested in pursuing graduate and professional degrees in health care fields after graduating from Drake can use our Pre-Professional Curriculum Guides to help plan their coursework in the Health Sciences!

Students can also add a minor or concentration to their Health Sciences degree!
