CHARACTER COUNTS! In Iowa strives to help Iowans practice good character through the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring & Citizenship.
Through a statewide partnership with the national CHARACTER COUNTS! Coalition, and the Institute for Excellence & Ethics, CHARACTER COUNTS! In Iowa impacts our state through a variety of ways:
CHARACTER COUNTS! in Families: Parents want their children
to be of strong character, and good character does not just happen. It
is an outcome of the efforts of parents who lay a strong foundation of
good character.
CHARACTER COUNTS! in Workplaces: Many Iowa companies are implementing
CHARACTER COUNTS! in the workplace by including the Six Pillars in their corporate
values and educating their staffs and boards on making ethical decisions.
