character counts! through the arts

CHARACTER COUNTS! in Iowa offers a unique project, CHARACTER COUNTS! Through The Arts, by linking CC! with the Iowa Arts Council and Iowa artists.

Specially endorsed CC! artists share their artistic talents to enhance the integration of character education in schools and communities. Click here for a list of artists.

The Iowa Arts Council is generously providing funding of up to $500 through the Easy 123 Grants. Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact the Iowa Arts Council at www.Iowaartscouncil.org for a streamlined application process. Funding questions can be answered by Linda Lee at 515-242-6194.

Artist Spotlight: Jacqueline Thompson

"Dr. J" just recently started working with Richardson School in Fort Madison implementing a CHARACTER COUNTS! Through the Arts program in conjunction with their Schools Out Program. Each month a different Pillar will be highlighted. Students will learn using songs, movement, stories and crafts, with a sharing time scheduled with parents and presentations at an all-school assembly at the conclusion.
