CHARACTER COUNTS! In Iowa is dedicated to maintaining active relationships with Iowa
communities, organizations and schools who are participating in character development initiatives. To
develop these relationships, CC! In Iowa has created the Iowa Character Outreach Network (ICON).
CC! In Iowa is seeking one individual to represent each participating school/organization/community to serve on the Outreach Network.
Goal The Iowa Character Outreach Network serve to enhance communication between CC! In Iowa and
organizations and communities who are participating in character development initiatives by sharing
implementation strategies and activities. The Outreach Network will also create a method for participating schools/organizations to build contacts with each other.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Iowans who volunteer to serve as their organization representative will be asked to be responsible for the following duties:

Relay local character development activities to CC! In Iowa. These activities may include: special events, school implementation ideas, and general current status of character development programs.
Disseminate information from CC! In Iowa to your local community. These activities may include
sharing information about special events and programs, class opportunities, or volunteer requests. You will be often asked to distribute information via email to your organization/community.

When needed, represent CC! In Iowa at local events.

Advocate for character development in your local community.

Maintain an active and continuing relationship with the CC! In Iowa team.

Build relationships with other ICON members learn what other organizations/communities are doing to promote character development.
