Teach in China Application Instructions


1)  Complete application form, available here. The application should be completed in a way that gives the reader a clear sense of your goals in applying for the program and what type of teaching placement would best help you achieve your goals.

2.  Submit the following support materials (which will also be used to secure your letters of invitation from your Chinese employing institution) to Kirk Martin, Director, Chinese Cultural Exchange Program, The Point 106, kirk.martin@drake.edu.

    a.  Professional resume
    b.  Two (2) letters of recommendation on letterhead speaking to your academic background and preparedness to live and teach in China.  Letters may be submitted via the applicant or electronically directly to the above contact as well.
    c.  A copy of your official transcript from the Drake University Student Records Office.

3.  Support materials do not need to be submitted all at the same time, they may be submitted as they are prepared or become available.

4.  Once you have submitted all of your application materials you will need to speak with the program director to schedule a brief interview.  Final entrance decisions will be made following your interview is complete.

5.  Applicants who are approved for, and accept, placement in the Teach in China program will have their placement secured only by submission of the program deposit of $250.  Placements will be announced around April 15th, 2010.

Note: Applications will be accepted from December 1, 2009 to March 10th, 2010 and will be considered on a rolling basis.  Program participation is limited to 25 participants.
