Information for Non-Drake Students Interested in studying in DULAP language studies

First, make sure you have thoroughly explored the information provided on our website and understand what we expect of our students.


APPLYING TO DULAP


Language study in DULAP is a 4-credit commitment. The first 3-credits are the DILS course, where you practice communicating in the target language. The last credit is a one-hour, co-requisite language learning strategies course. This is required of all language students for the first two semesters they study language in DULAP.


Non-Drake students wishing to study a language in the Drake University Language Acquisition Program need to fill out an application to the Language Acquisition Program, to be completed online at: http://www.drake.edu/international/dulap/applications/


All students that have any previous experience studying the language must go through the placement process to ensure that they begin study in DULAP at the level for which they are prepared. After we receive your application, we will send you instructions on how to complete the online placement exam.


Once accepted into the program, students must complete several steps in order to register.

ENROLLING AT DRAKE


Create a student record for registration purposes at:


1. Contact Student Records for information regarding Registration For Non-Drake Students http://www.drake.edu/studentrecords/

You will need to ask them for instructions for creating a student record.


2. For information regarding tuition and fees, visit the Office of Student Financial Planning at http://www.drake.edu/finaid/tuition/


3. Email your student ID number to Ashley Templeton (ashley.templeton@drake.edu). Your registration will be completed by the Language Acquisition Program, registration is not done online for courses in the Language Acquisition Program.
