Summer Institute of Language and Culture

Drake's Summer Institute of Language and Culture (SILC) is a four week Intensive English Program that incorporates more than twenty hours of classroom learning per week with supporting activities to provide participants with an intense and immersive language experience.

Courses are academically focused and include classes like Listening and Speaking, Grammar, Writing, Reading, Academic Vocabulary, TOEFL Preparation and Academic Language Preparation along with others designed to help learners get the most out of their short-term experience and prepare them for academic study in the US.

Learners should be between the ages of 18 and 24 and have an intermediate to advance level of English.  (A placement exam will be given at the beginning and end of the program.)

More information on the Summer Institute of Language and Culture 2016 will be posted by April 2016. Contact Carlyn Marron at the International Center, or 515-271-2084 if you have any questions.
