Paying Drake

Payment may be made by a check drawn on a U.S. bank, by travelers check, or by credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover).  Some students find it easiest to open a checking account at a Des Moines bank, deposit a sum of money, and write a check from the new account to cover the Drake semester costs.  Payment may also be made by an overseas bank draft made payable to Drake University in U.S. dollars.  You may also arrange a wire transfer.  This is done by sending the required amount to Drake's bank, Wells Fargo Bank in Des Moines, Iowa, and indicating both the account number, which is 000000131, and the ABA number of 121000248.  The student's name and Drake identification number should also be cited on the wire transfer.  If you choose either of these options, please allow 30 days prior to registration for this payment to clear the bank.

Students who are sponsored by their government or an organization should provide the sponsor's name and address to the Student Accounts Office so that proper billing may be made.

An eight-month payment plan (August to March) is available if you do not wish to pay the semester bill in full.  Please refer to the Tuition Pay Monthly Plan offered by AMS (Academic Management Services) at www.TuitionPay.com for information and to enroll in the program.  Enrollment in this program must be made by July 1 for the fall term and December 1 for the spring term. The payment plan is interest free; the only charge to you is a US$70 annual application fee, which is added to the first month's installment payment.  Monthly payments may be made, if desired, by credit card or electronic wire transfer in addition to other methods (a penalty may be assessed for late payments).

Billing and payment questions should be directed to the Student Accounts Office at Drake University.  They may be directed specifically to Mr. Robert Harlan (robert.harlan@drake.edu), Director, Student Account Services.  The telephone number is (+1) 515-271-2151 (or 1-800-443-7253, ext. 2151 within the USA), and the fax number is (+1) 515-271-4004.
