Welcome Back!
You have lived through a life-changing experience and nothing will be the same for you. This can be very exciting, but it can also be very frustrating. I hope your new insight, enthusiasm and global view will overcome the negatives.
I know you may quickly get caught up in a hectic campus routine, leaving little change to reflect and share your experiences. Therefore, I would like to invite you to the Study Abroad Re-Entry Workshop on Thursday, August 27, 2009. At this workshop, we will be able to address critical issues upon returning to life in the U.S. and at Drake!
Additionally I have compiled various resources for you, everything from the paperwork you need to complete now that you have returned from study abroad to information about reverse-culture shock and career links with an international twist.
Re-Entry Resources
- Re-Entry Culture Shock- what is it and is this what I am feeling?
- Top Ten Immediate Reentry Challenges
- Coping Strategies and Drake Resource Information- who on campus can help me through this process?
- Welcomer Form- help out with arriving International Students
- Study Abroad Mentor Form- provide prospective study abroad students insight into countries or programs
Study Abroad program evaluations have now moved online. Please visit Abroad101.com, a new feedback website, while your experience is still fresh in your mind! Let other Drake students hear your thoughts and recommendations as they look for their own programs.
Again, I’m glad you’re back! I look forward to hearing from you!
Jen
