We are entering a new chapter in Drake’s history as we take steps toward creating a truly internationalized University—a place that embraces diversity, intercultural thinking, and expanded opportunities. Our name change to Drake International reflects the key role we play in this process throughout campus and in connecting the University to the world.

The work we do in Drake International affects more than just students. We touch all areas of campus as well as partner institutions and organizations in Greater Des Moines and around the world. Our office coordinates English as a Second Language programs, provides support to the more than 300 international students and scholars who come to campus each year, and sends Drake graduates to teach English in China.

It’s inspiring to see just how far we have come:

And yet, we see an even brighter future ahead. Internationalization efforts are underway on campus as we strive to infuse global learning into curricula and cocurricular offerings across campus. And we continue to strengthen our partnerships with institutions from Uganda and Mexico to China and France so that Drake may serve as a bridge to other cultures.

We invite you to explore our site and see just how you can become a more engaged global citizen and join this movement on campus.
