Organizational Structure

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) reports to the the Provost of the University, Michael Renner.  The CIO oversees four organizational units:  Computer Information Systems, Instructional Technology, Computer and Network Service, and Drake Telemedia Center.

Computer Information Systems develops and maintains enterprise level administrative applications and their associated database(s) to support the operation of the university as related to students, faculty and staff as well as prospective students and alumni. Desktop Services (e.g. the Support Center) assists with the installation, setup and use of desktop computers.

The Instructional Technology program assists students and faculty with the use of technology to enhance learning.  Software acquisition develops agreements with software providers such as Microsoft and Adobe to assure University access to the software they need at the lowest cost available.

Computer & Network Services develops and maintains the server, network and telecommunications infrastructure to support the instructional, administrative and research requirements of students, faculty and staff.  It also provides a full array of email, web, calendar, directory and other services.

The Drake TeleMedia Center provides instruction, guidance and support for the use of multimedia technology in the classroom setting.  DTC offers design, installation and training resources, as well as research and development on multimedia devices and applications to the University Community.
