Procedures and Terms Applicable to Faculty and Staff Owned Computers
Qualifying computers: Computers owned by a faculty or staff currently employed by Drake University.
Available software licenses: Faculty and staff may have a single copy of one of the available versions of Office:
Office 2003 Pro
Office Mac 2004
The following terms apply:
1. The software may be installed on only one computer.
2. The software may only be used for Drake business purposes.
3. If the campus agreement with Microsoft is Canceled by either Drake or Microsoft, the software must be deleted by the faculty or staff member on whose computer it was installed.
4. When faculty or staff are no longer employed by the University, the software must be deleted by the faculty or staff member on whose computer it was installed.
Distribution procedures:
1. Qualified faculty and staff must come to the OIT office in Carnegie Hall.
2. Faculty and staff must sign an agreement stating that they understand the conditions under which they can install and use the software and the terms under which it must be deleted.
3. Faculty and staff are expressly forbidden to copy software installers or give them to other people. Faculty and staff are also forbidden to share Product Keys.
4. If the faculty or staff suspect that the software license or campus agreement is not being followed, they must report the situation to OIT.
