OIT / DTC TECHNOLOGY EVENT
February 22, 2008
OIT and DTC are co-sponsoring a Technology Event on February 22, 2008. The sessions are designed to provide information about the various technologies and resources available on Drake's campus for all faculty, students, and staff. Please join us for as many sessions as you wish to attend. All sessions run concurrently and are repeated throughout the day. This one-day event will be held in the upper level of Olmsted.

Poll the Audience
Join us for a demonstration of “clickers”. We will show the technology and use of Audience Response Systems that are now being used in many classrooms at Drake. It is the same type of technology used to poll the audience on Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

Multimedia Reserve Devices Available On Campus
In this session you will learn about the multimedia instructional devices available to you on the Drake campus. We will cover video projector, cameras, computers and input/output devices. An overview will demonstrate where to reserve devices, what is available, possible usage ideas, what comes with the reserve device and how to reserve the equipment.

Support Software Overview/Exposure
Want to know what's on what computer on campus? Join us for a comprehensive overview of the supported software for both Macs and PCs on Campus. We'll cover everything from Desktop Publishing to DVD Creation in this informative session.

Atomic Learning Resources
Learn through web-based education, more than 100 applications students and educators use every day. Atomic Learning's just-in-time approach focuses on answering the common questions people have when learning popular software packages. Think of it as “CliffNotes” for software! This session will show-case some of the types of materials available to Drake users through the use of this resource.
