Announcing the Launch of a New Web Mail Client

Drake IT is launching a new web mail client that will become available to users on August 31, 2008.

The  Web mail client can be launched through blueVIEW and will look significantly different from the old Web mail client. Because it is a web-based system, access to e-mail accounts will be available from anywhere on the web.

New tools available through system upgrade

The e-mail client is just one component of an integrated series of web-based programs designed to offer improved communication and collaboration tools.  These include integrated address books/contact lists, task lists, and Instant Messaging.

Other Tools Coming Soon

  • Synchronization to mobile devices--available by December
  • Calendaring Tool for scheduling events and meetings all across campus--available after winter break

To access Web Mail:

Log into blueView and click on the email icon at the top, right-side of the web page. This will launch the web mail application. It will require you to log in with your alpha-user name (not your Drake ID) and your current blueView password. The single sign-on feature will be available later in September.
