Iowa Cubs
The Chicago Cubs' triple-A affiliate is Des Moines' own Iowa Cubs. The team plays more than 70 home games throughout the season, which starts in April and ends in September or October, depending on post-season potential.

Iowa Energy
The Energy, who belong to the NBA Development League, tipped off their second season in Des Moines with five straight victories. The season continues through April.

The Chops are a minor-league hockey team affiliated with the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL. This is the Chops' first season in Des Moines, which previously was home to the Iowa Stars. The Chops hit the ice from November to April.
