For those citizens who have limited time but still want to know about their political party's news, the party's homepage is an easy and quick way to find information.
For the Democratic and republican parties, citizens of Iowa have the choice of either looking into the party homepage for the state of the national homepage.
The Democratic Party web site can be found by going to www.democrats.org. On the Democratic National Committee site, the Democrats have offered links to the latest news of the party, and the site is updated daily. For those who are not really sure what the Democratic Party is about, the site offers its party headquarters with links to the party history among other important Democratic information. Some examples of this would be the laws of the party, its current leadership and its calendar of current events.
The Republican Party web page can be found at www.rnc.org. The Republican National Committee provides a different array of selections than the Democratic Party offers. Like the Democratic Party, the Republican Party offers its latest news. The site offers links to some of the issues about which the Republican Party is concerned, and includes something a little extra. Besides all the important Republican news, the party has links called the "Democrats Exposed" and "What the Democrats Don't Want You to Know." Here the Republican Party gives a report about what the Demcoratic Party has done and its opinion of the Democratic Party's actions.
Iowa's Democratic page can be found at www.iowademocrats.org. Here you are greeted with an icon of a boxing glove running after and punching then Republican Party's elephant out of the way.
Immediately after the unusual greeting comes the "What's New" section. In this section, you'll find various links to all the news the Democratic Party has for the state of Iowa.
If you're patient enough to do lots of scrolling down, the rest of the Iowa Democratic page can be found. Here you find links of all sorts, even links to some national Democratic news and other political news.
The Democratic Party has links to all the Iowa Democrats who are in office. The links start with Gov. Tom Vilsack and end with the links to other state House and Senate members.
The "2000 Iowa Presidential Caucus Information" is an interesting site that deals with oth national - and state - related issues of the Democrats. If you click on this information link, you can find more specific information on the procedures for the Iowa caucuses. If you click on the pictures of the Democratic Candidates, Al Gore and Bill Bradley, you get linked to the candidate's official web pages.
If you're interested in attending some of the Democratic Party's events, you can link to "Upcoming Demoratic Events in Iowa."
The Iowa Republican Party Homepage (www.iowagop.org) gives information on various links. The Republican Party includes its calendar, the latest news, the names of the elected officials, information on the party and a directory of the GOP.
If you're interested in making a donation - monetary or volunteer work - the party welcomes this, and it has a link where you can sign up or contribute through their web site.
