Todd pulls double duty as an administrator and as a faculty member. He has taught every course offered in the Radio/TV major, from introductory Broadcast Methods to the advanced Telecommunications Practicum. Recently, he collaborated with Associate Provost Michael Cheney to create and teach a First Year Seminar for incoming students, entitled, "The Politics, Economics and Culture of Noise: The Lives and Times of Rock and Roll." Todd also serves as an officer for the Broadcast Education Association, as the co-chairperson of the Juried Faculty Production Competition.

As the Director of Television Services, Todd fills the role of Operations Manager of The College Channel, a Des Moines area cable channel controlled by the Des Moines Consortium for Higher Education. The channel provides educational and entertainment programming to the community at large. Many of the programs aired on The College Channel are produced by students from Drake University, including the EMMY-award winning news program, DrakeLINE.
