About Randall John Blum

Randall Blum is an Assistant Professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. His teaching areas include Advertising Principles, Ad Media Planning, Advertising Research, Business and Professional Communications, Advertising Campaigns and Propaganda/Persuasion Techniques.

Blum brings to Drake University over 17 years of professional marketing and advertising experience within the business community. He has held positions as Corporate Marketing Director and Regional Marketing Director for nationally recognized financial services companies. He has provided management and leadership to large corporate marketing teams and integrated advertising agencies.

In particular, Blum's experience includes strategic planning, national branding, integrated communications, national and local media, promotional advertising and sales distribution. This knowledge is the foundation for an interactive, highly-energetic classroom experience where students are exposed to real-life communication and advertising situations.

Finally, Professor Blum is a noted professional speaker and national communications consultant.
