With more than 5,000 students in 184 chapters nationswide (and growing), PRSSA is proud of its reputation as a national, preprofessional organization.     PRSSA was founded in 1968 by Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) to cultivate a mutually advantageous relationship between students and professional public relations practitioners. It further aims to foster students' understanding of modern theories and procedures, to instill in them a professional attitude, and to encourage them to adhere to the highest standards. Students throughout the nation have taken advantage of PRSSA as a key to their future in public relations and communications.

    National Conference-This is the governing body of PRSSA, composed of one delegate from each chapter and the National Committee. The assembly meets every spring to discuss society business, vote on candidates for national offices and determine the future directions of PRSSA.

    Regional Conference-Similar to the National Conference, Regional Conferences are held in the spring and are very important in maintaining the cohesiveness of the district and reinforcing the individual professional development of members.
