Career bluePrint
You will need to log in with your Banner ID and your birthdate
in mmddyyyy format. The first step is to build a profile
which you will then qualify to to view internships, full-time
jobs, a schedule interviews. Click on Jobs and search more
in depth with the advanced search options.
Posting your resume on Career bluePrint, our new career
management system is easier than ever.
Follow these easy
steps:
1) Complete your resume using your computers format,
rather than a template, and save it to a chosen folder
2)
Point your browser to Career
bluePrint
3) Add Username (Student Banner ID) and Password
(Date of Birth, mmddyyyy) to login, and complete your profile
by clicking "PROFILE" on
the top of the navigation bar, once completed you can...
4)
Click "DOCUMENTS" on the top of the navigation
bar
5) Click the "ADD NEW" tab to start the document
downloading process
6) Type a title in the "LABEL" field,
and click on the type of document that will be downloaded
7)
Download the document by browsing files on your computer,
once the document is found, and in the chosen "FILE" field,
click "SUBMIT" 8) Review your downloaded document by clicking the icon
under "VIEW." Your resume or other document will
be converted in a .pdf format on the career management system

Numerous Drake journalism students have
been awarded prestigious national summer internships. Students
receiving national internships include:
- Junior Viki Arias, majoring in news-Internet,
worked the summer of '06 with the National Association
of Hispanic Journalists Convention in San Jose, California.
Working with ten other students, they produced the NAHJ
convention website. Viki created vlogs, blogs, slideshows,
designed Web pages and uploaded content to the site.
- Magazine major Katie Stuhler interned
for Time Inc. in New York reporting and
researching
for This Old House.
- Lauren Albracht, interned
as part of the American Advertising Federation's Vance
L. Stickell Memorial Student Internship Program. She worked
with DDB Worldwide on Madison Ave. in New York.
- News-internet major
Kate McGinty interned at USA Today for one summer
assisting
Life and Money reporters
and editors with research.
Students with internships in the Midwest include:
- Cale Johnson,a junior news-internet
major, will be working in the public relations department
at the Iowa State Fair.
- Junior Hannah Hacker, a news-internet
and environmental policy double major, will spend the
summer working in the marketing department of the Nature
Conservancy in Chicago.
- Joel Sievert, a junior news-internet and
politics double major, is spending the summer doing research
for a political consulting firm in Des Moines.
- Sophmore magazine major Briana Gehring
will be working for Minnesota Parent magazine.
- Robin Bullock, junior magazine major,
will work with CORE magazine in Johnston.
- Junior advertising major Sarah Elliot
will be an account manager for the Pella account at the
Integer Group.
- Bailey Posnick, junior advertising major,
will work in the design department at Meredith Corporation.
- Sheryl Loren, junior advertising and graphic
design major, will be working at the National Pork Board
doing web design.
- Sophmore advertising student Ian Stewart
will be working in the creative department at Gragg Advertising
in Kansas City.
