Drake Law Library Association

Membership to the Drake Law Library Association includes special services, such as expedited photocopy service, interlibrary loan service, and special parking permits.

Services to the Bench and Bar

In addition to the benefits and services above, the Drake Law Library provides the following services to Iowa practicing attorneys and the judiciary:

Photocopy Service
Attorneys may obtain a copy/print card that allows them to use the self-service photocopiers in the library. Learn more about technology resources at its.drake.edu.

Borrowing Privileges
The Drake Law Library extends borrowing privileges to Iowa attorneys. Materials may be renewed as long as other patrons do not need them.

Reference Assistance
Basic reference assistance is available during normal business hours. If an immediate answer is not possible, a follow-up response normally can be expected within a few hours.

Westlaw and Shepard’s Citator Services
Computers in the Law Library lobby provide free access to the Westlaw primary law collection, including KeyCite, and to the Shepard’s service for cite-checking. Ask for assistance at the Information Desk.

State Law Library

Legal researchers are welcome to use the State Law Library of Iowa on the second floor of the State Capitol Building. In addition to print materials, the library offers two Westlaw public access workstations.
