LLM in Individualized Legal Studies

Drake Law School offers an LLM in Individualized Legal Studies to allow you to build your own program to fit your career goals and interests.

Program Overview

The philosophy of the LLM in Individualized Legal Studies is to allow each student to customize his or her own program to fit individual professional goals and interests.

The LLM degree is designed for students who have already earned their JD, LLB, or comparable law degree.

Curriculum

All students must successfully complete 24 hours of law credit drawn from the regular Drake Law School curriculum.

However, a student may design his or her own concentration by devoting 12 of these 24 credit hours to a specialized area of study of the student’s choice, or the student may pursue one of the following areas of concentration:

  • Business Law Concentration
  • Criminal Law Concentration
  • International Law and Global Citizenship Concentration

Scholarships

Drake Law School has a limited number of partial scholarships available to LLM students. Decisions regarding scholarship eligibility will be determined at the time of admission based on information contained in the application materials.

For more detailed information, see the LLM/MJ in Individualized Legal Studies curriculum.
