Room Assignments
Nearly all of the students on campus live in double rooms, as well as a few triple rooms. There are more than 40 three-person rooms on campus. First-year students are assigned to available spaces in the order in which the contract and $100 housing deposit were received. Most first-year students receive another first-year student as a roommate, but this is not guaranteed. Assignments will be available online beginning July 21, 2008.
To access your room assignment, follow these steps:
1. Log into BlueView
2. Click "Banner Self Service" (under MyDUSIS)
3. Click "Student Services and Financial Aid"
4. Click "Housing Roommate" (last option)
5. Select term
Telephones
Students are encouraged to bring their own telephones. As there is only one line in each room, it is recommended that you discuss the acquisition of the telephone with your roommate. Each room will have shared voicemail. The Office of Telecommunications recommends you do not bring your own answering machines. Students receive an authorization code that allows them to make long distance calls.
Linens
All beds in the first-year residence halls have extra-long beds.
Residents supply their own sheets, blankets, bedspreads and pillows. Linen packages may be purchased through the Residence Hall Association. Information about this service will be mailed to your home address.
Lofts
The first-year residence halls contain beds that can be lofted or unlofted by students. These are extra-long beds.
Cable Television
Each residence hall room is wired for reception of the Mediacom Cable/Communication System. The basic service provides a substantial number of channels, including three that Drake operates.
