A great education is one thing—putting that education to work in your chosen career is another. The staff at Drake’s Professional and Career Development Services want to help you with that transition. Whether you’re seeking an internship, crafting your resume, applying to graduate school, or launching your career, you’ll find the assistance you need for your situation.
Beginning in your first year you can (and should) use the Center’s resources—attend workshops, consult the career library, and work with the staff to set your professional goals and define a path to reach them.
Most of your fellow students (80 percent of them) graduate having had one or more internships, or field experiences. This practical application leads to success after you graduate. Nearly all Drake graduates (97.3 percent of bachelor’s degree recipients and 97.8 percent of graduate degree recipients in 2010-11) find career employment or enter graduate school within six months after receiving their degrees. Working with the Professional and Career Development Services staff will help ensure you are among them.
