Brand Communication

Master the essential skills of modern media.

Modern marketing and communications requires the ability not only to create compelling content, but also to reach a target audience strategically, creatively and effectively. This track of our flexible, interdisciplinary Master of Arts in Communication helps you build your digital media marketing skills, while allowing you to tailor electives to suit your career goals.

You will build on foundational classes in research, professional ethics, advanced writing, innovation, digital strategies and visual communication. You then customize your program by choosing from a menu of electives in digital storytelling, business, law and public policy, leadership, or health and science. Your adviser will help you select the best classes to meet your needs.

New classes start every six weeks. This accelerated year-round schedule means it is possible for you to earn your degree in one year.

Alumni of SJMC graduate programs have used the skills and networking obtained through their degrees to help them advance within their companies, change careers and start their own businesses. They’ve gained insight into their personal leadership styles, and professional strengths and areas for improvement.
