Communication Leadership

Turn your leadership dreams into reality.

Take your career to the next level with the flexible, interdisciplinary Master of Arts in Communication program. This track sharpens your leadership and multimedia communication skills, while allowing you to tailor electives to suit your career goals.

You will build on foundational classes in research, leadership theory, professional ethics, innovation, digital strategies and financial literacy. You then customize your program by choosing from a menu of electives in business, law and public policy, brand communication, or health and science. Your adviser will help you select the best classes to meet your needs.

New classes start every six weeks. This accelerated year-round schedule means it is possible for you to earn your degree in one year.

Alumni of SJMC graduate programs have used the skills and networking obtained through their degrees to help them advance within their companies, nonprofits and agencies; change careers, and start their own businesses. They’ve gained insight into their personal leadership styles, professional strengths, and areas for improvement.


The Communications Leadership track is a 33-credit Master of Arts in Communication program with coursework in the following subjects:
