Magazine Media

Inform. Inspire. Build your portfolio in print and on the web.

You’ll learn how to write effective articles, to act ethically, to identify the needs of an audience, and to deliver reliable information in the format that best serves those needs. In addition to becoming a better writer, you’ll also learn to communicate using video, audio, photography, social media, and mobile apps. Magazine Media majors are critical thinkers and problem solvers.

Depending on your interests and aspirations, you might choose a double major or dual degree in graphic design, English, history, psychology, or sociology.

During your senior year, you'll collaborate with students in News and Digital Media Production to create a multidisciplinary capstone project—an award-winning website that showcases rich multimedia content.

You can be a writer, editor, or designer for a magazine, in print or on the web. You can be in publication management or marketing, social media strategy or mobile application development, in communications for a corporation, educational institution, or nonprofit.
