Student Organizations

Beyon in-class learning, Drake marketing students may participate in a variety of student organizations and activities.

American Marketing Association

Drake’s chapter of the American Marketing Association is a nationally affiliated collegiate chapter dedicated to the professional development and education of future marketing professionals. The group hosts monthly events featuring professional marketers from prominent regional and national. Drake AMA members attend seminars, field trips, and are involved with philanthropy activities. Finally, Drake AMA hosts an annual Speed Networking event providing the opportunity for students to meet over 50 marketing professionals.

AMA members have participated in the creation of integrated marketing communication strategies for Coca-Cola for over 14 years. This has been a signature opportunity to put the talents of students before regional and national executives and influenced many of the promotion strategies of Coca-Cola products including those listed below.

Murphy Cup

The Murphy Cup, held annually since 2014, provides an intensive weekend experience in which marketing students put their skills to work in a competitive setting. In partnership with Creighton University, a marketing challenge is provided by a firm and teams of students present their solutions to the firm's executives. Some of the past firms participating in the Murphy cup are shown below.
