Student Travel and Research (STAR) Fund Guidelines

The College of Arts & Sciences values student participation in research and conference presentations—bridging the gap between undergraduate courses and graduate studies or future professional opportunities. The STAR Fund provides grants to allow students to travel to an academic conference, present their first academic papers, or travel to perform scholarly research.

Friends of Drake Arts Student Travel Research Fund Guidelines

The Friends of Drake Arts provide grants of up to $500 per applicant to create opportunities for fine arts students to expand their Drake University experience, positively impacting their ability to collaborate with all areas of the University, connect with partners in the Greater Des Moines community, and travel to capitalize on unique experiences to enhance their fine arts education. 

Sheslow Grant for Music Competition

These funds are reserved for special and significant opportunities that are not part of the regular on-going academic programming at Drake University. These opportunities are for music students and ensembles attending and/or performing at music festivals, conferences, competitions, study, or tours.
