Chamber Choir

The Chamber Choir is Drake’s most select choral ensemble, with membership drawn from the Drake Choir.

The Chamber Choir is Drake's most select choral ensemble, with memberhsip drawn from the Drake Choir.  The Chamber Choir performs on campus at least four times each year and is the featured ensemble for the annual madrigal dinners (/music/ensembles/drakechoruses/chamberchoir/madrigaldinners/).  The ensemble tours regionally each spring and internationally every four years.  In 2014 the choir toured England, singing at St. Paul's Cathedral and St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London,  the cathedrals of Coventry, Ely, and Gloucester,  and the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.  Read the Chamber Choir's tour blog and view photos at The Chamber Choir was selected by audition to perform for the conference of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) North Central Division in Madison, WI in February 2012.

Chamber Choir rehearses Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:30-1:45 p.m. Auditions for the ensemble take place in April for returning students and during the weekend before the fall semester begins for new students.

Payment Information:

(The total cost of the chamber choir tour is $4,500 per student.)

Payment plan options:

  1. Entire amount of fair share paid by September 7
  2. $500 deposit, due September 7; pay balance (your fair share, minus the deposit) in 2 equal installments due October 1 and November 1

You may make tour payments in either of two ways:

  • Call Donna Knight-Donovan in the Office of Student Accounts, 515-271-3805 to share your credit card information.  (You will need to do this each time you make a payment.  Drake University does not retain credit card numbers.)
  • Mail or deliver checks in person (made payable to Drake University - please indicate chamber choir tour in the memo line) to:

Drake senior Morayo Adeyoju, a native of the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria, shares his cultural history as part of an art exhibition on display through Oct. 22 in The Anderson Gallery. Adeyoju's grandfather was a king of the Yoruba tribe.
