Drake Chorale

The Drake Chorale is the select women's ensemble on campus. These singers frequently collaborate with guest conductors and other ensembles and have sung with Anonymous 4, Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory, Z. Randall Stroope, Mark Sirett, the Des Moines Symphony, and the Seoul Women's Chorus of South Korea, as well as other collegiate women's choruses.

Students in the Chorale are both music majors and students majoring in academic disciplines in every College of the University. They include first-year students through seniors. Auditions for the Drake Chorale take place in the spring for returning students and for new students the weekend preceding the start of the fall semester. Chorale rehearses Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-5:00 pm, and is directed by Linda Vanderpool.
