David Crabbs is an Iowa native and received his guitar performance degree from Drake University. He studied at Drake with Douglas Dixon and Phil DeLong. Mr. Crabbs has studied with members of Los Romeros - The Royal Family of the guitar and has performed in master classes for Christopher Parkening and The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet.

In 2000 Mr. Crabbs was an ambassador of music for the state of Iowa performing concerts in Merida, Mexico. In 2004 he returned and did a series of concerts to help raise money and create awareness assisting the need to establish food programs for the Mayan Indian Villages. Mr.Crabbs was asked to return again in 2007 to perform concerts for the University of the Yucatan and to teach guitar and guitar composition in the university.

Mr. Crabbs is the owner and instructor of the Ankeny Guitar Studio in Ankeny, Iowa where he resides.

Five Drake piano students will showcase their talents on a world-renowned concert grand piano during a free concert at Drake University next month. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 1, in Sheslow Auditorium, 2507 University Ave.
